Burgh Castle Marina’s moorings will be partially closed tomorrow when HM Coastguard’s Operation Dragonfly gets underway.

The multi-agency emergency training exercise will take place between Goodchild Marine and the Broads Authority’s moorings at Burgh Castle from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

The exercise is being co-ordinated by the coastguard but also involve St John Ambulance and Broads Authority personnel and equipment and will see the agencies will practice their response if there was a serious accident on the Broads.

A section of the moorings will be taped off for safety reasons, but the public footpath beside the moorings will remain open.

A spokesman for the coastguard teams asked members of the public to cooperate with any instructions given by the safety officers in attendance who will be wearing high-vis.

“Please do not be alarmed or be tempted to join in,” he added.
