Norfolk’s coroner, William Armstrong, confirmed Billie-Jean Roberts, 48, and her daughter Antonia Huzar, known as Annie, 19, were from Little Fransham, further west along the A47 from where they died at Hockering, between Dereham and Swaffham.

Mr Armstrong said: “Antonia was driving her Ford Ka, with her mother as passenger, heading towards Norwich.

“For reasons which have not yet been established, the vehicle left the road to the near side, before rejoining the road, crossing both carriageways and then being struck on the near side by a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

“This double tragedy will be investigated by Norfolk Constabulary’s Serious Investigations Team, which will provide me a report and I will then resume the inquest.”
