Norwich man admits stealing a child’s bike then selling it for £20 at Cash Converters

A man who had been out drinking with friends stole a child’s bike before selling it at Cash Converters, a court heard today.
Dean Skitmore took the unattended pedal cycle from Heathgate in Norwich, as he believed it might be of use to his son, Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told.
But after Skitmore found out the bike was too big for his son, he took it to Cash Converters and sold it for £20.
The mum of the child bought a replacement bike and their original pedal cycle was later returned.
The 29-year-old, of Lavengro Road, Norwich, pleaded guilty today to one charge of theft on September 21, 2011.
He was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the mum of the child, who bought a replacement bike, £45 costs and £20 to Cash Converters.
In mitigation, the court heard Skitmore was unaware he would cause upset to a child and voluntarily attended a police station when he knew they wanted to speak to him.

This man is typical of a Norwich person, not only dishonest enough too give a stolen bike to his son, but too stupid to understand that he would get arrested for selling it to cash converters, this is common in Norwich where it seems that the residents can't help themselves and it is acceptable. This person stole from a child with the intention of giving it to his own son, yet is free to do the same again, but then it took a year to put him in court and it must have been traumatic for him, perhaps he can now proceed up the scale to a nice burglary or a nice old pensioner that's easy to befriend and rob, well done Norwich magistrates.
