A Norwich taxi firm set up in the 1980s has been listed for sale for almost £500,000.

Canary Taxis owner Victor Bond said he would be retiring, with the business set to change hands.

The firm has been up and running since 1988 and today has roughly 50 vehicles, including several minibuses.

An advert for the sale says the business' turnover neared £2m in 2017, and that it has a smartphone app for bookings worth £7,000.

The business, which is based at Rackheath Industrial Estate, has a workshop and large control room.

It is listed for sale at £475,000.

In May, the firm signed up to a Broadland District Council initiative to see its drivers trained as dementia friends.

At the time, Mr Bond said: 'I think it's essential that all drivers learn about safeguarding.

'I'm glad to see that Broadland is now running these courses. We're 100pc behind it.'
