Music and media festival Norwich Sound and Vision is back for an eighth year next month with a great mix of headline acts.

The annual three-day event will take to the stage at Norwich Arts Centre from Thursday, October 12 until Saturday, October 14.

Opening night features two headline acts for music fans to enjoy, with American pop-punk duo Diet Cig sharing the bill with south London band Goat Girl.

On the Friday, it is the turn of four-piece band The Big Moon to step into the Norwich Sound and Vision spotlight.

The London band’s debut album Love in the 4th Dimension was nominated for the Hyundai Mercury Prize 2017 and they have recently supported the likes of Mystery Jets and The Vaccines.

Finally, to close the 2017 Norwich Sound and Vision Festival on the Saturday, Norwich Arts Centre is welcoming back Birmingham indie rock quartet Peace whose name is said to be at the forefront of the British guitar music scene.

Support acts during the festival will include Norwich duo Sink Ya Teeth and riot grrrl band Peach Club, with more acts still to be announced.

Rosie Arnold, Norwich Arts Centre’s executive producer, said they were proud of this year’s line-up of headline acts for Norwich Sound and Vision.

She said: “This year’s 2017 programme is our strongest yet and is very much about new and exciting artists.

“We’re back doing what we do best, supporting new talent, showcasing new artists and shining a spotlight on Norwich’s creative industries.”

Alongside the music programme, Norwich Sound and Vision will once again include a conference attracting international delegates, speakers and performers to the city to discuss the music, film and multimedia industries.

Norwich Sound and Vision runs from Thursday, October 12 until Saturday, October 14 at Norwich Arts Centre.
