A householder found an intruder climbing through an open bedroom window of their bungalow in Anchor Road, Spa Common, North Walsham, in the early hours this morning.

The would-be burglar, who fled empty handed, is described as being in his 50s, balding and gaunt in appearance.

Police are keen to trace the man and have also appealed for information about a white car-derived van seen in suspicious circumstances in the area at around the same time.

Contact Det Con Tom Gibbs at Great Yarmouth CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
