A van overturned in a ditch, and a car hit a sign on a roundabout in north Norfolk this afternoon as icy, sleety conditions continued to make driving hazardous.

Emergency services were called to the roundabout on Thornage Road, Holt, shortly after 12.30pm. The couple in the car were not injured.

At about 3pm police, fire and ambulance crews also went to the scene of a van in a ditch on the A140 at Aylsham, near the turn to Banningham. The male driver was not hurt.

A police spokesman warned drivers that conditions were treacherous with HGVs getting stuck on Letheringsett Hill. There was also congestion on the B1110 at Thornage.
