A group of friends from north Norfolk are hoping for maximum exposure when they unveil their 2013 naked calendar next week.

Following in the footsteps of the Calendar Girls, who famously stripped off to raise money for a good cause, members and friends of local heavy metal band 'To The Last' have been inspired to follow suit and raise money for charity, Help for Heroes.

Lead vocalist Stewart Turbett and his wife Linda organised a party where the photo shoot took place.

He said: 'The idea came about after watching a documentary on TV featuring soldiers returning from the front line and being inspired by the work that charities like Help for Heroes do and it just snowballed.

'We were amazed when all the lads agreed to get involved.'

Norfolk photographer Vicki Utting agreed to donate her time to take the photos and joked that she thought her models would be 'shy'.

'They soon overcame their nerves and I think they quite enjoyed it,' she said. 'The biggest problem with some was getting them to put their clothes back on.'

After careful editing, the calendar, which features what Mrs Turbett describes as 'real Norfolk men in our beautiful countryside', is currently at the printers.

It will be kept tightly under wraps until its launch at Lamas Village Hall on Friday October 26 at 7pm.

Mr Turbett added: 'We're hoping that people will come along to buy the calendar and show their support for Help for Heroes.

'We hope that our fine figures will raise a few smiles and, of course, a fine figure for a great charity.'

The calendar costs 7.99 or 15 for two and will be available to buy at the launch or through Facebook (Naked Heroes) and Twitter (@Naked_Heroes).
