Norfolk’s ‘mini-Monet’ is set to design one of the GoGoDragons! sculptures that will create a fundraising trail of art through Norwich next year.

Twelve-year-old Kieron Williamson’s beautiful landscapes have seen unprecedented demand from collectors, with the biggest price achieved for one of his pictures being a staggering £45,000. Now he is getting ready to paint on a different kind of canvas, after being picked as one of the artists for the GoGoDragons! trail being organised by children’s charity Break and Wild in Art.

Kieron’s dragon will be among those decorating the streets of Norwich next summer before being auctioned to raise funds for Break.

“I am looking forward to doing really big pictures on the wings of the dragon,” said Kieron, who lives in Trunch and has his studio in Ludham.

“I am looking forward to designing the dragon and getting all the paint on it.”

He said he had not yet started his design, but planned to include images of Ludham and St Benet’s Abbey. He will be designing the dragon sponsored by Arnolds Keys, whose Keys Fine Art Auctioneers subsidiary has sold some of Kieron’s works.

Phil Cooper, from Arnolds Keys, said: “We are thrilled that Kieron has agreed to paint our dragon. It will give thousands of people the chance to view his work close-up, and someone will eventually get to own a truly unique piece of Norfolk art.”

Michael Rooney, from Break, said: “We are extremely grateful to Kieron, his family, and dragon sponsors Arnolds Keys...To have such a prodigious talent as Kieron involved increases the profile of the project, and will help raise funds for our work with local vulnerable children, young people and families.”
