For fourteen years radio listeners in Norfolk have woken up to the Rob and Chrissie breakfast show, but the well-known duo took to the airwaves together on Heart for the final time.

Rob Chandler and Chrissie Jackson originally teamed up in April 1999, on the then Radio Broadland, and since then they have woken up thousands of listeners across the local area every weekday morning.

Rob has worked in radio in East Anglia for more than 30 years – 27 of them presenting the breakfast show - while Chrissie has been a familiar voice in the area for 27 years on a variety of different shows.

In a statement released by Heart, the pair said: “The radio station and the breakfast show have been a huge part of our lives. We’ve had a fantastic time on and off-air with the team here and most importantly with the listeners. Presenting Heart Breakfast has been one of the best jobs in the world and it has been a privilege to be part of our listeners’ lives.”

Norfolk-born Dave Taylor and TV presenter Sarah Cawood are to be the new hosts of the morning show.

Meanwhile, Radio Norwich 99.9 has snapped up Rob Chandler. The city will be waking up to the new Rob Chandler Breakfast show from New Year’s Day.

  • Started listening to them again a few weeks ago to escape the dreadful Wayne on radio Norwich and thought they were really good, guess I will go back to radio Norwich I like the advert for Aldiss and Betty's with the posh lady and her daughter Jennifer from about 15 years ago but it was a bit repetitive

  • Good Riddance. Why do the EDP waste time reporting this trivia?

  • Good riddance - bye then. Shame one is staying on the air. Thank goodness for DAB. And why do any negative comments get removed regarding these two???

  • Marshwiggle, perhaps the removed comments are abusive or just plain rude? personally I like these two and as they have been on Heart for the last 14 years I can only assume that the majority agree with me and not you but obviously you're entitled to your own opinion.

  • Went to an event in Norwich a few weeks back where this pair were guest DJs at the height of their 'Save Rob & Chrissy" campaign and I could tell why Heart are dropping them. They were awful - devoid of any rapport with the audience, they clearly weren't enjoying their stint and quite frankly the whole atmosphere of the evening improved when they were replaced by a grey haired gentleman in his 60's !!!! I think we just have to accept that they had run their course and change was necessary.

  • As there are often complaints with regards to the perceived bias of the moderators of this site would be nice if the moderators could reply. I have had posts that were never shown.

  • Marshwiggle. Negative comments get removed if they are not in keeping with the EDP's way of thinking or against their favorites. Like I have said before, if they are censoring comments because they do not fit in with the EDP's way, then they should abandon the comments section.

  • Yeah but Rob is moving to Radio Norwich so now I have to avoid that station too. These Dinosaurs need to bore off. Rob has been on air since 84! he's past it. The people on the save rob and chrissy facebook page are hilariously pathetic too.

  • Rob is the epitome of local commercial radio presenters. That's why I could never listen to Broadland back in the day.
