Officers at Sheringham stopped the man early on Sunday December 2 on Cromer Road with the ball - along with a rucksack containing black candlesticks and red candles.

A spokesman said: “The man could not provide an explanation about where he had got the ball and candlesticks from so police are investigating to see if it is stolen.

“The local pubs and clubs have been checked, but officers believe it may have been from someone’s shed or garage.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Phillipa Fisher at Cromer police station on 101.
