Police are appealing for help tracing the next of kin of a family who died when their car was in a head-in crash with a lorry.

Jeffrey Hain, 66, his wife Marion, 69, and their 36-year-old son Christopher, died when their Kia Ceed was in collision with a lorry on the A47 at East Winch, near King's Lynn, yesterday.

Today police said inquiries at their home in Newhey, near Rochdale, Lancs, have so far failed to locate any next of kin.

All three regularly attended church in a nearby village.

Revd Sue Ward, of St Thomas' Church, Newhey, near Rochdale, said: 'The whole community is in complete shock. All three of them were such dedicated members of church life and they will be incredibly missed.'

Community members are being invited to pay their respects in church at a Mother's Day service from 9.45am on Sunday.

Any relatives or anyone with information to help officers trace them should contact PC Keith Sainsbury at the Swaffham Roads Policing Unit of Norfolk Police on 01953 424242.
