The orange glow of a beautiful Cromer sunset is the image which has stolen the hearts of people who visited the Norfolk is... exhibition in Norwich.
The exhibition of the top 25 photos contributed to our campaign were on display at The Forum throughout last week and Monday of this week.
Visitors were asked to vote for the defining Norfolk is... image from the 25 shortlisted images, with a £550 Broads holiday up for grabs.
More than 400 votes were cast and today we can reveal that Kate Royall, pictured, claimed 74 of those votes to be voted number one.
Miss Royall, 31, who lives in Suffield Park, Cromer, said: “I thought the exhibition was absolutely incredible. What was really good about it was that it was not only quality photos but that it was representative of the whole of Norfolk.
“There was a bit of everything – there were photos from the coast, countryside and the city. The whole campaign seemed massively successful.”
Miss Royall says the campaign has also reinvigorated her passion for photography, which she studied when she was younger at Paston College in North Walsham.
“I love north Norfolk so it was an ideal opportunity to share that with people,” she added.
“I work in the city so I like coming home and getting the sunset photos.”
The £550 break won by Miss Royall will be across three or four nights on a cruiser, thanks to Broads holiday company Herbert Woods.
Amanda Walker, marketing manager at Herbert Woods, said: “It’s been great to be involved with the campaign. It has really been highlighting the beauty of the area that we try and sell to people and the more exposure the Broads get the better.”
In second place with 34 votes was Tom Barrett’s black and white photo of the Norwich skyline from Mousehold Heath, narrowly ahead of Pete Jessop’s panoramic shot of Wells beach, which received 33 votes.
