A variety of events are planned to celebrate the bicentenary of the death of Humphry Repton, one of Britain’s greatest landscape gardeners, who is buried in Aylsham.

More than 40 events, ranging from art sessions and wheelbarrow walks to writing sessions and history talks, are planned in Norfolk to celebrate his life and work.

The national launch event will take place at Aylsham Parish Church on March 23, followed by a workshop with Dr Tom Williamson, Professor of Landscape History at UEA on March 24. And on March 25, there is a guided walk and exhibition in Hayman Lodge, Catton Park, which was Repton’s first commission.

There will also be events at Sheringham Park, Northrepps Cottage Country Hotel, Mannington Gardens, Holkham Hall and Hoveton Hall.
