Students had their interest in politics developed further following a visit from the Mayor of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk.
Iceni Academy pupils grilled and quizzed councillor Nick Daubney on a range of things, from local politics to how local services are provided.
The event included a range of year groups and some of the Methwold academy’s debating team.
“It was a great privilege to meet the head teacher and students at Iceni Academy,” said Mr Daubney, he was also given a tour of the school.
“I was fascinated to learn how students are strongly encouraged to take personal responsibility to contribute to a quality learning environment, and I was really pleased to join a group of students for a really interesting discussion about matters of local government and democratic process.”
Following the visit, students are now planning further changes to their own democratic system for the new year.
