A former Gorleston special constable will join the “flirty 30” on cult ITV dating show Take Me Out next month.

Rachel Green, of Caister, appeared on cult ITV show Take Me Out.

Rachel Green, 30, is to appear with host Paddy McGuinness and 29 fellow contestants on an episode due to air on Saturday, February 9.

The mother-of-two, who currently lives in Caister, said she decided to apply for the show last autumn.

“I’ve been in two really long-term relationships, so I’ve never really been single,” she explained. “I had been single for six months, had the opportunity to apply for the show and it looked like good fun.”

She is pictured on Gorleston beach last summer, in photos taken by her younger sister Charlotte Henley.

After completing an online application form she was invited to the ITV Studios in London for a successful audition.

She took time out from her job as a receptionist at Lion Engineering Services, at Gapton Hall, to film her episodes of the show at studios in Kent in December 2012.

“It was absolutely brilliant,” gushed Rachel, who went to Caister High School. “I really enjoyed it.

“I was sceptical about being around more than 30 girls - many of them younger than me - and I thought there might be some nastiness.

“But there was a party atmosphere with the girls and the staff and it was just brilliant.”

Take Me Out sees host Paddy become cupid for 30 single girls, who are seeking a date with their dream man on the ‘Isle of Fernandos’ - the show’s name for Tenerife.

When each man steps out of the ‘love lift’, girls can keep their light on if they want to go on a date or turn off if they are not interested.

If more than one girl has kept her light on after three rounds, the man can decide who to take on a date.

To find out if she gets a date on the show, tune into the ITV show from Saturday, February 9.

Gutted - I used to live in Caister, and went to the same school, wish I was her age and went to school when she did...You never know lol..Pretty girl..

Could she not find some clothes to wear for the article? Looks like just another... to me. i doubt many of the women on that show are actually "single", more so your run-off-the-mill attention seeking wannabes hoping for their five minutes.... Women like that dress a certain way and then wonder why they get treated a certain way.
