New Year’s Day assault in Great Yarmouth

POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted on New Year’s Day in Great Yarmouth.

The 40 year old victim was in Northgate Street at around 2.45am walking to a garage to get cigarettes. He had just crossed the mini roundabout heading in the Caister direction when he was assaulted by three white males.

The man suffered swelling and reddening to his jaw and an abrasion to his wrist.

Anyone who witnessed the assault should call PC Des Crawley on 101.
