Mr Meyrick (58), is currently Dean of Exeter and succeeds the Rt Revd James Langstaff who is now the Bishop of Rochester.

“My family and I are excited by the prospect of life in a new county which we know slightly but not yet well. I am relishing the prospect of new challenges and look forward in particular to working with ministerial colleagues and the people of North West Norfolk for the common good of all in our communities,” he said.

Pupils at King’s Lynn’s Whitefriars school were among the first to welcome him when he attended the school today for a special assembly where he was introduced by the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev Graham James.
