The new building offers students a place to work and relax with a large common room, ICT suites, seminar rooms, a modern coffee bar/café, and a performance hall and the whole building is networked so students can work on their own tablets.

Head of sixth form Dr Clare Lowery said: 'The new centre means the students are able to relax and work in a lovely environment and have the option of eating café style at break and lunch times.

'This is a new venture for Langley School which will evolve over the coming weeks and months, but it is really exciting and the sixth form is buzzing!'

The performance hall will be used for assemblies, performances and sixth form speaker events.

Headmaster Dominic Findlay added: 'The students are thrilled with their new area of the campus and are finding it has provided them with more freedom, independence and a more grown-up environment whilst they also remain a part of the whole school.'

Current and prospective parents are invited to a sixth form open evening on Thursday at 6pm.
