A new hip hop music video aims to show Great Yarmouth in a positive light.

The video was the brainchild of Drew Perceus and Peter Dewar or “A.N.D” and “Reflect” going by their performance names.

The two hip hop artists met for the first time as part of the Our Town mini series set in the town and began working together.

They decided to create a hip hop video to help promote the series using cast members from the show.

The video also features well known faces in the town like David Perry or “The Puppet Man”.

Mr Perceus, 32, who lives in Northgate Street, said you often hear bad things about Great Yarmouth, so wanted to show a more positive side to it.

He added: “As a community we are progressing.”

Mr Dewar, 37, who lives near Market Road, said music gives you confidence and self esteem which a lot of people are lacking.

He added: “I had given up on music and given up on life but I’ve been inspired to make music again.

“Just don’t give up on what you want to do. If I can do it then you can do it.”

The pair are in the early stages of launching a project to help youngsters in the town record their own music and create their own music videos in a music studio.

The series was filmed around Great Yarmouth and premiered last month.

The intertwining storylines on issues such as bullying, loneliness and deprivation, but will also stories of determination, grit and positivity in the town.

It was the idea of 33-year-old Steve Farrell who appealed for the local people of Yarmouth to get involved and be a part of the series.

He received an overwhelming response with dozens of people from different walks of life contacting him to get involved.

The director added: “I was able to connect with a range of people from all over town who wanted to take part and be involved.

“This meant the cast was extended and the help behind the scenes was overwhelming.

“To date across the 12 episodes filmed, we have had a staggering 70 cast members which is quite unusual for a small scale production like this.

“I also hope people can appreciate what we have achieved to actually get to this point as we had no budget what so ever.”

The music video features cast members in the video are Brooke Williams, Ronan Williams, John West, Declan Williams, Jules Peters, Justin Burgess, Chloe Louise, Adam Gammage, Janette Oakman, Jade Martin-Capewell and Anthony Jasper Davis.
