Scores of hopefuls have been dancing, hula hooping, and singing in a bid to win a dream holiday as Ant and Dec’s Saturday night show rolled into a city shopping centre.

Thousands of shoppers looked on - and cheered on - as people tried their best to impress the Supercomputer which was at Norwich’s Castle Mall as part of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway ITV1 show.

People registered for the chance to ‘perform’ a variety of silly dances and songs in a bid to win a holiday to Orlando, Florida.

The Norwich winners will be revealed by the award-winning presenters in Saturday night’s show.

There were just a few tickets up for grabs but that did not stop thousands turning up to try their luck.

Frances Fairs, 21, from Lowestoft, who has been at the Mall since 8.30am, said: “I was watching the show when I saw it was coming to Norwich. I do martial arts and am going to try and get everyone to do the Can-Can.”

She added: “I would adore the chance to go to Florida. I would never be able to afford it on my own.”

Rob Wood, 23, from Heartsease, said: “I’m here because I want to take my mum to Florida - it would be great to do something for her for once.”

Buzby Allen, 35, from Hopton-on-Sea, donned a fluorescent lime green tracksuit for his performance, said: “It was a great atmosphere - its just whipping up the crowd.”

  • Oh good, I was warned this was taking place so have taken evasive action by staying out of Norwich. This must mean I can go back. Cant stand the hysterical faux jollity and screaming that follows these two miniature individuals around

  • It is very telling that this sort of TV rubbish heads to the Castle Mall to find stupid people, down market people and not Chapelfield

  • Good grief, what a bunch of dullards, bemoaning this light-hearted TV programmen and the members of public who just want to have a laugh. "It is very telling that this sort of TV rubbish heads to the Castle Mall to find stupid people, down market people and not Chapelfield" - No it isn't. You've just made that up. Can I see youir correlation between IQ and Mall visited please? "Oh good, I was warned this was taking place so have taken evasive action by staying out of Norwich. This must mean I can go back." - No, please. Stay away. "What is the extent to which these sad showoffs will go in order to pretend they are sellebretees." - I'm sure they'd be able to spell "celebrities" correctly though.

  • Well Larson, at least they have some talent! They do appear to have made the most of their lives, unlike a great many of the British Public, so why do you have to try and rubbish them?

  • What is the extent to which these sad showoffs will go in order to pretend they are sellebretees. As for talent. Keep taking the pills anyone who thinks that this embarrassing display showed even the smallest particle known to physicists of talent. In fact a group of physicists discussing string theory would be more entertaining.

  • Ant&Dec....never in the history of entertainment has so little talent been spread so far and so thinly. The Burke and Hare of comedy.
