Vanda James reported seeing a UFO over Great Yarmouth three times this week

A MUM has reported a mysterious encounter with a UFO after she spotted a “strange light” over Great Yarmouth.
Vanda James has woken up three times this week to see the “bright, golden light” hovering over the sea to the east of her home in Southtown.
The 53 year old first spotted the light in the early hours of Sunday morning and then again on Monday and Tuesday (yesterday).
She said: “I woke up early about 1.40am and what alerted me was how bright it was. It was a yellowy, golden (colour), I thought ‘that looks like a planet’ but what was really odd was the way these waves (of light) came out of it, they were almost curved.
“I sat in bed watching it and it didn’t move. It hung about for a long time, 40 minutes or more, and then it suddenly shot backwards, it disappeared within seconds. That was Saturday night.
“On Monday I woke up at the same time and there were two and last night (Tuesday) the same thing again but just one.”
Ms James’ sighting follows a report of a UFO being spotted off the coast at Cromer.
Andrew Cochran saw a bright white and blue light near the north Norfolk resort at around 8.30pm on Saturday, which appeared to rise into the sky and then flash green and red.
Ms James said she was home alone each time the UFO appeared but was so compelled by what she saw she listed her encounters on on a website for UK-wide UFO sightings.
“When you looked at the other stars it seemed reasonably close,” she added. “It was a very strange occurrence.”
Nearly 3,000 people have supported a Facebook campaign demanding safety improvements on the A47 near Dereham set up after the latest fatal crash.

If anybody should happen to speak to an Alien can you please tell them to clear off back to Wiltshire & make some more crop circles, you are doing the tourism industry proud in those parts especially as your visit coincides with a major' crop circle conference'. Lol.

'it sat there for 40 minutes' plenty of time to get a camera then, so we can all see it!

Have a look at heavens-above.com. You set the map & then look for things like satellites & the ISS that are visible to the naked eye from your location. There are a lot of low orbit satellites etc that are easily visible to the naked eye & often at levels close to the horizon, so the ill informed call them UFO's, aircraft etc etc.

Well , if aliens are checking out Gt Yarmouth to assess the state of human advancement and intelligence .....they won't be coming back i fear. " Planet Earth not worth exploring , seems full of overweight creatures of dull intelligence walking around in a drunken daze. Move on to next planet ".

I hoped that the Olympics had given the newspapers enough copy to avoid the "silly season", with stories like this. I noticed one of the nationals had a "Nessie" story last weekend! I dread to think what we will have to read next Monday when the Olympics have ended.

I remember the first time we saw the effect of laser type lights on the underside of some clouds. We had to get a grip of our innate "hickness" in order to shake off the Close Encounters ( or even Bat-Signal) moment. The sea and sky -very hard to judge distance height and size.

Lots and lots of lights out there every night, ships of different sizes at varying distances from the shore, rigs being towed, lights on the turbines appearing to flicker as the blades go round, fishing boats turning to and fro, survey boats doing the same -any number with deck lights, cranes and cabin lights on and helicopters civilian and military. Then there are weather balloons and the pestilential lanterns carrying fire. If I imagined I was seeing UFOs everytime I look out of my windows I would never put the bincs down!

It is such a terrible shame that there are never any pictures to accompany the witnesses sightings. I do feel however, that on this occassion that we can agree that there is a possibility that this may or may not of happened. Regards, Whiley.

I saw a 'bright golden light' this morning. It started becoming visible through the mist and became smaller as it rose higher in the sky which was a strange blue colour. Whatever could it be?

Don't be silly neil298, people are always seeing things flying in the sky that they cannot identify. They are inevitably clouds, birds, aircraft, meteors, planets, weather balloons, satellites, fireworks, flares, chinese lanterns et al. But because the people who see these things don't know what they are, the phenomena are, by that very fact, Unidentified Flying Objects!
