Motorists in North Walsham face four days of disruption during the May half-term week as major routes through the town are closed for roadworks.
The resurfacing work, originally scheduled to go ahead in February, will now start on Tuesday May 28, after the bank holiday Monday.
It will be carried out in three phases, starting at the Grammar School Road end of Yarmouth Road, when a road closure will be in force, moving northward on to Yarmouth Road when vehicles will be controlled by traffic lights, and then on to the northern end of Yarmouth Road and into Market Place and New Road. A road closure will also be in place for this final phase.
Signed diversions will be set up during the closures and further details will be issued nearer the time.
The work is expected to cost about £120,000.
Nearly 3,000 people have supported a Facebook campaign demanding safety improvements on the A47 near Dereham set up after the latest fatal crash.
