The community behind a mosque in Norwich is holding an exhibition event to encourage people to explore Islam.

The East Anglian Bangladeshi Islamic Centre will host the event at its Rose Lane Mosque, 70 to 72 on Rose Lane, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, November 11.

The goal of the day is to educate people on the history and teachings of Islam, which the group said is 'constantly associated in the press with a minority radical element'.

The day will feature tours, refreshments, question and answer sessions and a chance to observe prayer in the mosque.

Representatives from the police, fire service, schools and community groups will be attending.

The centre, which said similar previous events had been successful, said it was looking forward to 'giving our guests the chance to see for themselves what goes on in the mosque'.
