Norwich City supporters will be able to park at the Riverside Morrisons car park for the Canaries’ Premier League clash with Chelsea on Boxing Day - in return for a charitable donation.

The Albion Way supermarket’s main store will not be open, although its petrol station will be, so the car park is being opened from 1pm for City fans.

A fee of £6 will be charged, which will go to the Community Sports Foundation‘s Sporting Light Appeal.

  • Good call Morrisons - I'd be happy to pay a few quid to charity for a group of us to park a few feet from the ground, its not much when you consider ticketspetroldrinks etc.

  • The money is all going to charity, the Community Sports Foundation‘s Sporting Light Appeal. I suppose if you can afford to drive there and pay admission to see the football, you can afford the £6 to park for a charity at Christmastime. The Appeal raises money to provide sporting opportunities for disadvantaged people and those with disabilities and has helped over 1,100 people to date but then if you rather spend it on booze and park somewhere else for less, it is your choice

  • Maybe they think we're all stinking rich like Roman Abramovich. £4 would have been fair enough thou.
