Retail guru Mary Portas has been in town to offer advice and ideas to Godfreys in Suffolk Road ahead of a grand re-opening this morning (Friday).

It is understood her time at the store has also been filmed for a Channel 4 programme, which is to be screened at a later date.

Inviting people to the re-launch event, a spokesman for Optomen Television said: “Come down and have a look at the changes Mary has made.”

  • Peter Waller is quite right. She didn't do much for the charity shops except put up the prices and override the very purpose of them. If Godfreys have been taking advice from her i might give it a miss in future. Are godfreys so desperate for publicity that they need to go on channel 4 ? I hope they know what they are doing.

  • A big, big YAWN! Just curious, who awarded Mary Portas the accolade of 'Retail Guru'? Perhaps she can sort out the traffic & parking problems that are crippling Lowstoft.
