The man was today named as Stewart Page, 60, from Market Rasen, in Lincolnshire.

An inquest into Mr Page’s death was due to be opened and adjourned this afternoon.

Police were called to the Briarfields Hotel, at Titchwell, on the afternoon of Sunday, November 11.

A land ambulance and the Magpas Helimedix helicopter also attended the scene, which was close to the RSPB Titchwell bird reserve.

Crews fought to save Mr Page but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement on the night of the incident, Norfolk police said: “Officers attended an address in Main Road, Titchwell, at 1.50pm today after concerns were raised for the safety of a male.

“A 60-year-old man died from head injuries at the scene. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
