Police, paramedics, firefighters and a volunteer from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service were called to Green Road in Brandon at about 11.35pm following reports of the accident between a Peugeot and a Fiat.

The road was closed for nearly four hours.

The male driver of the Peugeot, believed to be Polish, had to be released from his car by fire crews from Thetford before he was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with a possible head injury.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the accident and the road was reopened at 3.25am.
