A man has been taken to hospital after being rescued from a house fire in King’s Lynn today.

Firefighters were called to Milton Avenue, near the College of West Anglia, just after 2am.

Crews from Kings Lynn, Terrington and Sandringham attended the scene.

Norfolk fire service said they used hosereel jets to bring the fire under control and breathing apparatus to enter the two-storey property.

One man was taken to hospital by ambulance. His condition has not been released.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen of the house. The cause is still being investigated.

Crews took half an hour to bring it under control, but remained on scene until 4.30am.
