The incident took place at around 8.40pm yesterday on Salhouse Road approximately one mile outside of the city heading towards the village of Rackheath.

The male was involved in a collision with a white Citroen C1 which had been travelling from the direction of the city.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend the area but sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roads policing officers are keen to speak to anyone who believes they may have spotted a man walking along the road, heading towards Rackheath, shortly before the incident.

The male driver of the Citroen has been assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) at Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
