Man jailed for trying to steal rhino head from Norwich museum

A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison this morning for attempting to steal a rhino head from Castle Museum in Norwich.
Patrick Kiely of Eleanor Street, Bow, east London, changed his plea to guilty after initially denying the theft which took place on February 20 this year.
The 29-year-old was caught on CCTV with three other men, who smashed the glass case the rhino head was held in and ran off with it.
But museum staff held up their escape, forcing the gang to drop the head.
Kiely was sentenced to six years in prison earlier this year for a raid on the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.
Up to £15m worth of jade artefacts were taken in the theft on April 13.
