The East of England Ambulance Service were called to the scene in Pixey Green, Stradbroke, at about 7.35am on Wednesday.

The land and air ambulance crews arrived between 7.50-8am and worked for an hour stabilising the man at the property.

He had been found unconscious but breathing and was taken to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital at about 8.50am in a “serious but stable condition”.

But a spokeswoman from the East Anglian Air Ambulance said he later died in hospital.

She said the burns had been caused by a gas heater.
