A man was taken to hospital with 'significant' injuries following a crash with a lorry in Norwich.

The man, said to be in his late 40s, was driving a Ford S-Max car on Riverside Road, Norwich where it was involved with a Renault drop-sided lorry and hit into a tree.

A spokesman in the Norfolk police control room said the crash, which happened at about 6.50pm on Friday (November 3) was being investigated by the Serious Collision Investigation Team.

The road had been re-opened by 10.51pm, and the police thanked the public for their patience.

Police warned motorists to expect delays following the crash which happened on the same night as the Big Boom fireworks display in the city which was attended by thousands of people.
