A man has died after going into cardiac arrest in the Haymarket area of Norwich.

The East of England Ambulance Service were called to the area at 1.35pm on Thursday to a report of a man who had collapsed.

An ambulance officer, rapid response vehicle, ambulance crew and response car from the East Anglian Air Ambulance were dispatched.

They treated an elderly man who was in cardiac arrest. He died at the scene.

Norfolk Constabulary confirmed it was called to assist the ambulance service.

Onlooker Nick Ralph, 39, said: “He was lying on a bench receiving CPR for around ten minutes before an ambulance arrived.

“There were lots of people stood around and the crowds got bigger as more response teams arrived.”
