A guard of honour formed up outside a rural Norfolk church for the wedding of two army officers.

Maj Tom Coleman, from the 1st Battalion, the Royal Anglians, married Capt Verity Morris, from the Adjutant General’s Corps, on Saturday.

They tied the knot in the 14th Century St Mary’s Church at Anmer, on the Royal Estate, at a service conducted by the Revd Michael Brock.

Best man was Maj Phil Moxey, who served alongside Maj Coleman during the 1st Battalion’s tour of Afghanistan, in 2007.

After a reception in a marquee near the church, Maj Coleman, 33, and Capt Coleman, 28, left for their honeymoon in Sicily.

The groom’s mother, Judge Isobel Plumstead, said the honeymoon would be brief, with both officers returning to duty on Thursday.

She said the couple met when Capt Coleman was seconded to her future husband’s battalion, in 2007.
