At Sheringham, Sisters in Spirit members hosted a sale and coffee morning at St Peter’s Church.
The group, which was set up by a handful of local women in 2011, last year raised £1300 for Macmillan and has supported good causes ranging from Sheringham After Breast Cancer (ABC) Group, to the town carnival.
SIS has also provided town shops with 60 “Angel Packs” containing items including ground sheets, blankets and umbrellas to be used by patients while waiting for an ambulance.
Bed and breakfast landlady and SIS member Diane Evans, who arrived at the church to begin setting up at 6.30am, said: “The charity helps so many people and cancer is something that touches everybody. It is extremely humbling to hear people’s stories when you are fundraising.”
