Two people from Norfolk have had a miraculous escape following a place crash in Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.

The pair in the light aircraft walked away uninjured, but were taken to hospital as a precaution following the crash at around 5pm yesterday.

It came down in a field after developing problems shortly after take off from Guernsey Airport.

Several homes nearby were evacuated while searches were carried out on the ground before emergency services confirmed no-one else was injured.

Emergency services were planning to unload the fuel, about 200 litres, from the plane, registered in Norfolk.

It is believed the plane, registered at Seething Airfield, smashed into a greenhouse, and spilled debris into nearby gardens
