The Spirit of Lowestoft all weather lifeboat was launched just before noon to help the two man crew of the yacht Juliette, which was three miles north of the port.

Although the vessel was under sail power when the lifeboat arrived, the yachtsmen were unable to safely navigate into the harbour entrance in the north easterly moderate breeze without the assistance of an engine.

The lifeboat crew swiftly connected a towline and brought the disabled vessel safely into the town’s yacht basin, arriving at 1pm.
