A car has been destroyed during a suspected arson attack in a Lowestoft car park on Saturday night (February 16).

Two males, possibly teenagers, are being sought by police in connection with the incident, which took place opposite Sparrows Nest Park in Whapload Road shortly before 9pm.

The males were seen walking away from the scene carrying something that police say may have been a can of petrol.

Firefighters from Lowestoft were called to the burning BMW vehicle at around 9pm and took 45 minutes to put out the blaze.

The fire control room received numerous calls to report the incident.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said the incident was being treated as arson.

Anyone who saw the two males or can help identify them is asked to contact PC Robert Dakin on 101.
