Fears a Remembrance Day parade would not go ahead have been allayed, after a community rallied around to make sure it happens.

It had been feared the annual parade from Chedgrave to Loddon would have to be called off, after it was thought the appropriate policing for the event would not be available.

However, after an overwhelming community reaction from residents of Loddon and Chedgrave, the parade will now go ahead as planned.

After it originally emerged police would be unable to provide security measures for the parade, members of the public came together to make it clear how desperate they were for it to still go ahead.

However, residents rallied around and now the parade will take place after all, with police marshals and the Royal British Legion both set to be involved.

Caroline Bown, one of those who campaigned to revive the parade, said: 'We live in an amazing community which works strongly together to make things like this happen.'

Among those taking part will be Jimmy Sturman, who is to become the third generation of his family to serve as a standard bearer for the Royal British Legion. The parade will meet at the White Horse in Chedgrave at 10am on November 12.
