A young musician has released three songs focusing on the first and second world wars as well as a call for peace.

Jack Van Greuning, 19, from Cromer, known as JackDaniel, has released Another Hero EP on SoundCloud which can be downloaded for free.

The EP includes the protest song If You're Gonna go to War; Another Hero which is about people who fought in the first and second world wars and are forgotten about; and They Don't Wanna which is about young men going out to fight in the First World War.

The singer-songwriter, who is starting an Access to Music sound engineering course this September in Norwich, said: 'It is 100 years since the outbreak of war so why are we still fighting?'

He added the songs were also about remembrance.

JackDaniel performed They Don't Wanna at the commemorative service at Overstrand church on Sunday August 3.

The teenager said: 'That was possibly the most humbled and honoured I have ever felt. Just hearing things at the service made goosebumps go up your arms and tears come into your eyes. It was moving to walk outside and see the war memorial.'

He added he could not imagine the bravery of the men who fought in the war.

JackDaniel first became interested in war history after learning about it at Sheringham High School when he was studying his GCSEs.

His love of history continued at A-level when he studied the subject at Paston Sixth Form College in North Walsham.

He has always been musical and wrote They Don't Wanna when he was 14.

JackDaniel will release one of the songs from the EP on November 11 this year to raise money for the poppy appeal.
