Lifeguard patrols will return to the beaches of Norfolk this weekend for the start of the 2014 season.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution will patrol six beaches at Sheringham West, Cromer East, Mundesley, Sea Palling, Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.
Lifeguard supervisor Sam Kendrick said: “If you are visiting a favourite spot for the first time this year, it’s worth being aware that the storms last winter may have changed the make-up of the beach, creating rip currents in places you may not expect.
“I’d encourage people to ask a lifeguard about enjoying the beach safely and to always swim between the red and yellow flags.”

RNLI lifeguards will patrol six beaches in Norfolk until July 5. From that date a further five beaches will also be patrolled. These are Wells, East Runton, Sheringham East, Cromer West and Hemsby.
