A learner driver came within seconds of a head-on collision when a lorry was forced to swerve to safety after it was believed to be travelling on the wrong side of the road near Thetford.
The near-miss, which took place on the A134 at Barnham Cross Common at around 9.45am on Tuesday, also caused four cars to collide, with one casualty receiving minor injuries.
The lorry was heading towards Thetford when the driver swerved to avoid a small red car being driven by a pupil on a driving lesson. The lorry is believed to have been on the wrong side of the carriageway, according to a police spokesman.
The swerve caused a red Vauxhall Corsa, a white Toyota Avensis, a black BMW 525 and a red Citroen Berlingo to collide.
Police are now looking for witnesses to the incident.
The lorry was possibly blue and white in colour and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area prior to the collision.
Witnesses are asked to contact PC David Reed at Swaffham Roads Policing on 101.
