A Norwich restaurant has celebrated its 28th birthday, making it one of the longest-running eateries in the city.
The Last Wine Bar and Restaurant, in St George's Street, opened its doors on April 23, 1990 - St George's Day.
At home in a former Victorian shoe factory - and with its name taken from shoe lasts, which are used in the manufacturing process - the business is still owned and run by founder James Sawrey-Cookson, along with his stepson Ecky Limon.
Mr Sawrey-Cookson said: 'In the fickle world of restaurants, we are proud of reaching another birthday – 28 years is a long time indeed in this business.
'Over that period The Last has become an irreplaceable part of the city's food and drink scene – it's fair to say it is now a Norwich institution.'
He said they were 'extremely fortunate' to have won a 'large army of very loyal customers', many who had been visiting since it opened.
