A 53-year-old woman fell up to 10 feet on to rocks at Cromer this afternoon and has been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by ambulance.

Cromer and Sheringham Coastguard rescue team went to the woman’s aid.

Sheringham station officer Jerry Woodley said the woman, from Dagenham, in Essex, had been flying a kite when she fell backward, it is thought from the promenade, some eight to 10 feet on to rocks below.

Coastguards carried her to the warmth of the nearby lifeboat museum where she was treated by a paramedic and then transferred to the ambulance.
