A nail art technician from King’s Lynn has scooped a national award for her unique designs.
This is the second time Scarlett Senter, 31, has won the polish and paint artist of the year at the Scratch Stars Awards 2017 having previously bagged the title in 2014.
Her work was judged by a panel of industry experts after they received a record number of entries.
After finding out she had been short-listed for an award, Mrs Senter said she felt both nervous and excited for the awards night on Sunday, July 23.
“When I found out I won, I was gobsmacked,” she said.
“I had my hands to my face and my husband was screaming behind me.
“I was up against really good nail friends of mine, I was adamant it was going to be someone else, their work is amazing.”
She was presented a trophy by Scratch magazine’s editor-in-chief Alex Fox and former Blue singer Duncan James.
With seven years of experience under her belt, Mrs Senter has accumulated more than 9,000 followers on her social media pages.
She has made the front cover of Scratch, the UK’s leading nail magazine, where her designs will be profiled throughout the coming year.
Arriving at the venue of the awards, Mrs Senter and husband Ashley were delighted to find the magazine displaying her work on every table.
She added: “It was really good, such a buzz.”
Mrs Senter set up her nail art business in her home, in Eastfields, and attends courses regularly to learn more about the evolving techniques and latest trends.
Some of her specialities includes chrome, 3D embellishments and ombre nails.
She said: “I am always looking for new things on social media and I have attended courses all over the country. “Recently I went to Stansted and a lady came all the way from Portugal to teach nail techniques.
“I am really passionate about nail art and it is not just work but also a hobby.
“People come to me because I create a lot of designs with my own spin on it. I pay a lot of attention to detail and I like my bling.”
