The latest chapter in Ipswich Town’s kit fiasco rather summed up a season of inconsistency from a mix-and-match team.

The Blues sold plenty of their ‘Barcelona’ away shirts last summer, only to realise that it clashes with most of their opponents’ home strips.

It’s been worn just twice so far, while a hastily assembled off-the-peg orange kit third kit (not available to buy) got its umpteenth outing of the campaign in the Tractor Boys’ defeat at Cardiff on Saturday.

Then, just as Bartosz Bialkowski was walking to his goal following the coin toss, referee Andrew Madley said he had to change his shirt because both keepers were wearing all green. As a result, he ended up having to quickly whip off his gloves and pull on a yellow top. Yes, a Town player in yellow and green. You couldn’t make it up.

  • Could be a new 'Spot the......' game to rival that old favourite Spot the Ball ! It could be called Spot the 1p5wich Supporters !! How many 1p5wich supporters can be seen in the photo and how many empty seats can you count ? Not sure what is holding the goalies shorts up - brown masking perhaps ?

  • If Cardiff has upgraded to a Primark, how long before Ipswich gets one? It'd be akin to the likes of Harrods to denizens of The Chantry.

  • Please permit me to explain. That section of the stand is reserved for players' wives and girlfriends and on Saturday afternoon there was a sale on in Primark.

  • Steady on, Mylen1um - you'll get ole Dubya going on his favourite topic. Swathes of empty blue seats... etc. I wonder if the stewards at Portaloo Lane wear Day-Glo\ Hi Viz jackets in Canary yellow?

  • Back in the day, all keepers wore green. What's the problem?

  • So what was wrong with both keepers wearing the same colours. "O dear o dear silly me. I should have had a shot there but I thought that was our goalie so I gave him a back pass instead". FFS get a grip ref. The colour change worked though - they lost.
