A driver who died when his car was hit by a train at a level crossing last week has been named.
The driver was identified from dental records as Rodney Wheeler from Trafalgar Road, Downham Market. The incident happened at Pleasants Crossing, Ten Mile Bank at around 1.15pm on Thursday July 12. The 64-year-old’s cause of death was given as multiple injuries from the collision.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “The incident is currently treated as non-suspicious and Mr Wheeler’s death is thought to have been a tragic accident.”
“The train involved was the 12.56pm King’s Lynn to Kings Cross service.”
