Inquest opens into death of motorcyclist Jack Rogers killed in A146 crash

An inquest has opened into the death of a young motorcyclist killed on the A146 near Loddon.

Jack Rogers, 25, died on Thursday, July 6, in a two-vehicle collision at Chedgrave near to the junction with Norwich Road.

It involved a blue Vauxhall Vectra and a Suzuki GSXR motorbike.

Mr Rogers, the rider of the motorbike, died at the scene.

Jacqueline Lake, senior coroner for Norfolk, opened the inquest this morning at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.

No members of Mr Rogers’ family were at the short hearing.

Mrs Lake said the 25-year-old was living at New Inn Hill in Rockland St Mary and working as a digger driver at the time of his death.

She recorded the cause of death as multiple injuries due to a road traffic collision.

A full inquest into the death of Mr Rogers will be held at Norfolk Coroner’s Court on Thorpe Road, Norwich, on January 30, 2018.

The female driver of the Vauxhall who was involved in the crash suffered hip and facial injuries and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.

Police, two ambulance crews and an ambulance officer were sent to the scene.

Floral tributes have been left by the roadside in his memory.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, and anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has dash cam footage or may have seen the driving manner of either vehicle, should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
