Diners at an inaugural dinner to honour Vice Admiral Lord Nelson raised more than £2,700 for the Wells Community Hospital.
More than 100 people ate a Nelson-themed menu on October 21, exactly 207 years after the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
Nelson expert Jeffrey Bonas spoke at length about Nelson, and items at the charity auction included a model of HMS Victory and the first copy of the book Remember Nelson.
The dinner was held at The Hoste in Burnham Market, one mile from the Burnham Thorpe site where Nelson was born in 1758.
Police in Norwich have launched an investigation after a woman claimed in a tweet she had knocked a cyclist off their bike.
